The Greenville office of O'Neal Constructors is seeking an experienced Safety Director. This position will implement and maintain project safety and accident prevention programs in an industrial construction setting, including inspections, equipment, materials, and training. The Safety Director will frequently interact with client safety personnel and subcontractors to identify and eliminate hazardous working conditions, and produce the appropriate reports for OSHA and the client. Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of construction safety management experience required.

Environmental Engineer (Binghamton, NY area) for this 400 employee heavy manufacturing facility. The position reports to the Environmental Manager at the plant. The candidate should have 2+ years of environmental experience in a manufacturing plant which should include “air” work and a BS in Environmental Science or related.

Corporate Environmental and Safety Coordinator (Atlanta, GA) for this global paper and packaging company with approximately 100 locations. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years environmental and safety experience with an emphasis on environmental compliance (CAA, CWA, RCRA, EPCRA, CERCLA, etc.). The position reports to the Corporate Environmental and Safety Manager. Extensive travel required (50-75%).

EHS Senior Engineer (Boston area) for this 200 employee manufacturing company. This is a new position and it will report to the Plant Manager. The candidate should have 3+ years ehs experience in a manufacturing environment and a BS in Safety/Environmental or related.

EHS Manager (6/2/08)

Urgent opening forenvironmental, health and safety (EHS) manager for a ethanol plant about 35 miles west of the Indianapolis area. The EHS manager is initially responsible for establishing the EHS management systems for the plant and instructing all plant personnel on safe work practices and environmentally responsible operations. Ultimately the manager will develop and oversee systems designed to help location line management comply with all government EHS regulations and local environment operating permits. Further, the EHS manager will provide location line managers with help in continuously improving the plant’s EHS performance. This is an exempt salaried position with benefits and bonus eligibility. Occupational Health & Safety Specialist (5/1/08)

Job Description: This is a field position that will support the Power Generation Carolinas (Robinson Fossil and Darlington County Combustion Turbine Plants) located in Hartsville, South Carolina. Candidate will be responsible for providing professional health and safety technical assistance; performing hands-on health and safety hazard analysis, employee exposure monitoring and compliance assessments; providing recommendations and support to mitigate or eliminate workplace hazards; and developing and implementing written health and safety policies, procedures, and practices. Candidate will work closely with Power Generation Carolinas management to ensure accomplishment of goals through effective planning, organizing and scheduling of individual work activities. Candidate will maintain professional knowledge of existing and proposed changes in all industrial hygiene and industrial safety regulations and serve as the point of contact for the Power Generation Carolinas as the health and safety technical expert. In addition, candidate will be responsible for assessing the operational impact of existing and proposed regulations and will be able to independently identify, develop and present recommendations to Power Generation Carolinas management.

Candidate must possess strong team skills and be able to coordinate work activities with other health and safety specialists, and provide regulatory specific support to management responsible for implementation of regulatory requirements.

In addition to normal work, position must be available to be on-call as necessary and to work with other health & safety professionals and management to perform work required during planned outages or emergency situations, including storm duty. At least 25% travel may be required for this job supporting team meetings, project work and peers at other locations.

This position may be filled at a higher level, based on the experience and qualifications of candidate.

Minimum requirements for this job are a bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related field, and 1-4 years experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Power plant experience, along with Certified Industrial Hygiene (CIH) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation, is preferred.

Qualifications: Typically works under general supervision and exercises judgment. Knows and effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures. May work on projects or tasks that are fairly complex and varied. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 1-4 years professional experience.

Environmental Health and Safety Manger - Facilities (4/28/08)

Description of Position and Requirements: Provides environmental, health and safety (EHS) support for a facility program. Manages employees performing activities to ensure EHS requirements are met for the operation and maintenance of an office complex, including coordinating site inspections, interfacing with regulatory agencies, assessing risks and conducting relevant training. Develops, implements and maintains a comprehensive communication plan with senior customer and site management. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives. Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Prefer knowledge and experience in Green initiatives and the LEED certification process.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in safety, health or environmental related field and typically a minimum of 15 years experience as a manager of EHS programs and projects.
